Lethal Yellowing Control for Disease Susceptible Palms

Lethal Yellowing is thriving in South Florida and the Caribbean and we highly recommend the antibiotic injection of the three most common species of disease susceptible palms: dates, adonedias and especially, coconut palms. Although there is no guarantee, this program is successful when implemented as a preventive basis. The palms can harbor the disease, in an incubative state, for a year or longer before showing the first external signs of lethal yellowing, so numerous palms could be infected before the first palm is even diagnosed with the disease.
